Growing up fascinated by spaces and how they influence emotions, Mehwish pursued interior design to turn her passion into a profession. After gaining industry experience, she took the bold step of launching MM Design Studio in 2020. “I wanted to create a firm that wasn’t just about pretty spaces but about meaningful, personalized experiences,” she shares.
Her early days as an entrepreneur were filled with hurdles—building a client base, managing finances, and overcoming the skepticism that often greets newcomers. “It wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt,” she admits. “But my determination to stay true to my vision kept me going.”
One of her proudest achievements has been designing heritage-inspired restaurants in Delhi, including a Mughal-themed dining space and an Iranian-style café. These projects challenged her creatively and solidified her reputation as a designer unafraid to experiment.
As a woman entrepreneur in a competitive field, Mehwish draws inspiration from Zaha Hadid, whose fearless approach to architecture continues to motivate her. “She taught us that design has no boundaries—and neither should we,” Mehwish reflects.
What sets her apart is her empathy-driven leadership. She listens, understands, and translates her clients’ stories into spaces that feel deeply personal. “Design isn’t about imposing your style—it’s about bringing someone’s dream to life,” she says.
Today, MM Design Studio stands as one of Delhi’s most promising interior design firms, with plans to expand across cities and into global markets. Beyond business growth, Mehwish is passionate about mentoring young designers, encouraging them to stay curious, embrace challenges, and focus on learning.
