In a rapidly changing world, education remains the most reliable pathway to dignity, independence, and long-term social progress. Yet for many children in India, access to quality education continues to be restricted by financial and social barriers. Gunjan Foundation has been working consistently to bridge this gap, creating opportunities for underprivileged students to learn, grow, and build sustainable futures. Established in 2004, the Foundation has become a strong pillar of support for children and youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Under the leadership of Founder-President Ms. Sushma Singhvi, Gunjan Foundation has spent more than two decades addressing educational inequality with a structured and transparent approach. Over 2,300 students have benefitted from the Foundation’s initiatives across India. Many of these students are first-generation learners whose families depend on daily wages, informal employment, or single sources of income. For such families, education represents hope—an opportunity to move beyond limitations and create stability.

Gunjan Foundation believes that education must be continuous and holistic to be truly effective. Financial assistance alone is not enough; students require guidance, consistency, and access to essential resources. With this philosophy, the Foundation provides comprehensive support that includes school and college fees, books, uniforms, transportation, and learning materials. This ensures that students can focus on academics without the constant burden of financial uncertainty.
One of the Foundation’s most impactful initiatives is Gunjan-Sashakt, which supports school education from Nursery to Class XII. During the academic year 2024–25, more than 260 students were supported under this program, many of whom study at Shishu Kalyan Senior Secondary School in Gurugram. Gunjan-Sashakt plays a critical role in reducing dropout rates and strengthening foundational learning during crucial academic years.
For students seeking higher education, Gunjan-Utkarsh serves as a gateway to professional and vocational opportunities. This initiative supports college-level education in fields such as engineering, medicine, law, nursing, commerce, and computer applications. Each year, around 40–45 students receive scholarships and mentorship through Gunjan-Utkarsh. Many beneficiaries go on to graduate successfully and secure employment, becoming financially independent and supporting their families.
Recognising that academic knowledge must be complemented by communication and life skills, Gunjan Foundation introduced Gunjan-Aayaam. This program focuses on English language development, confidence building, and supplementary academic support through online learning platforms. Students participating in Gunjan-Aayaam have shown notable improvements in self-expression, confidence, and academic performance, particularly in board examinations.
Gunjan Foundation’s reach extends beyond the Delhi-NCR region through its regional chapters. The Jaipur Chapter actively supports higher education scholarships, English and computer training programs, career counselling, and initiatives focused on girls’ education. Meanwhile, the Ahmedabad Chapter contributes through scholarship programs, monthly educational kit distribution drives, and the Swadhyaya Sadan—a self-learning centre that provides underprivileged students with a structured and supportive study environment.
Transparency and accountability remain central to the Foundation’s operations. Gunjan Foundation has received national recognition for its work, including being listed among the Top 20 NGOs Making a Difference by LBB Delhi-NCR, Top 10 Most Impactful NGOs by Brand Honchos, and Top 5 NGOs by Crowdwave Trust. Repeated Gold Category ratings from the Give Foundation further reinforce its credibility and commitment to ethical practices.
Beyond awards and statistics, Gunjan Foundation measures success through the real-world impact it creates. Students supported by the Foundation often complete their education, gain employment, and uplift their families. Many alumni return to mentor or volunteer, strengthening the Foundation’s ecosystem and creating a cycle of empowerment.
As Gunjan Foundation looks to the future, it remains committed to expanding educational access, enhancing skill-development initiatives, and fostering long-term self-reliance. Through education, the Foundation continues to build futures defined by opportunity, confidence, and lasting change.
